The call to serve doesn’t end with the mission—it continues with the courage it takes to rebuild and begin again.

Military Veterans, Police Officers, Firefighters, and First Responders therapy in the Denver Tech Center or online across Colorado

Service leaves lasting marks—some visible, others carried quietly within. Veterans and first responders often face unique challenges: the weight of traumatic memories, moral injury, and the strain of reconnecting with family or civilian life. As an Air Force veteran and therapist, I understand the culture, values, and unspoken pressures of those who serve.

Whether you’re coping with PTSD, burnout, or adjusting after deployment or years on the frontlines, therapy offers a space where you don’t have to explain the basics—I already speak your language. Together, we’ll work toward emotional regulation, healthy coping, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Areas of Support

  • PTSD & Trauma Recovery: EMDR and trauma-focused therapy for intrusive memories, hypervigilance, and emotional numbness.

Veterans & First Responders Counseling – FAQs

1. Why work with a therapist who’s a veteran?

As a two-time Iraqi Campaign Medal Air Force veteran, I understand the unique language, culture, and pressures of military and first responder life. You won’t have to spend sessions explaining acronyms, sick humor, or justifying your feelings—I get it and will very much roll with it.

2. What therapy approaches do you use for PTSD or moral injury?

I integrate EMDR, IFS-informed therapy, CBT, and somatic awareness techniques to process traumatic memories, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild a sense of safety and meaning.

3. How do I protect your information?

I get it. There is a lot of fear in speaking to a therapist, because as “we” know, there can be very detrimental consequences to talking about the real shit—and the very real feelings about the real shit. :) Our sessions are HIPAA compliant, and all notes are taken through Simple Practice, which is a widely used, protected site. If this is still not comfortable for you, I can put it on paper and house it at the practice, where you can have access to it whenever you ask. I do my best to make sure your notes are minimal—unless you don’t want them to be. Bottom line is—I will work with you to figure out best practices as we navigate our relationship.
